Please, read the following BEFORE contacting me:

    1. Who, What, When, Where, Why, How (or as much info as you can provide). Please be as clear in what you are asking or requesting of me (have your budget and otential timeline ready);

    2. Please remember that I am Indigenous and Two-Spirit (Queer). This means that a lot of extra work is often asked of me that isn’t accounted for. I would recommend paying any artists from equity-seeking groups a higher rate than you might think to. Also, when rates are the “minimum wage” I encourage you to think why that is your bare minimum and if your organization has the capacity to pay higher wages for the labour of IBPOC artists.

    3. Please, don’t be offended or take it personally if I do not respond to you. I get a lot of emails and don’t have an assistant, so all of the admin falls on my shoulders. I do my best to respond but some emails I just do not have the capacity to respond to.

  • Commissions, performances, curatorial jobs, etc. - I generally use the Canadian League of Composers Rates for compositions and CARFAC rates for panels, whereas other fees are to be negotiated depending on the span of the work and what is required of me.

  • Please have all of the information available (with whom, what exactly are you proposing, when would you like to do this project, what are your fees you’d like to offer/are you asking me to set a fee, timeline, where, etc) when making a request for collaboration on an arts council grant (Toronto, Ontario, Canada, etc) as I am often asked last minute (often days before a deadline) and I want the full picture of your request as I often get more than one last minute ask. I prefer to work with artists who want to build long term relationships together, so consider reaching out long before a deadline and getting to know me.
